The Vale Royal Mini Festival 2010

The Theme was `GARDENS`

This was the second year Vale Royal had put on a Mini Festival. Trying to find an interesting subject was the biggest problem ,

The competition had six categories for each of four age groups :-

Nine and under
10 to 16
17 to 35
35 and above

There were a selection of choices fairly varied to use the talents we have here at V.R.
We offered the following choices :-

An original poem on any aspect of the garden between 8 and 24 lines long
A living garden in a container suitable to display on a table ( which did not attract any entries )
A painting “In the garden” appealed to the younger ones
A plate of decorated cup cakes , several entries ,which were enjoyed with coffee after the Sunday service !
Two photographic classes “A captured moment in the garden” and “ A garden study” the first one you were not allowed to do any digital alteration to.

This last section had the most entries ,as it did last year.

Judging took place on the Saturday afternoon and small prizes were given as the winners were announced in Church on the Sunday morning.

The festival made an interesting point for discussion both before and after the event.
